Vision Statement

MESA provides students with the essential skills and resources to achieve success in school, career, life and STEM-related disciplines. MESA welcomes all students and actively recruits ethnic minorities and females as they are often underrepresented in STEM fields such as computer science and engineering.  MESA mobilizes and aligns the resources of diverse educational institutions, industry and other partners to create and implement an integrated program that maximizes impact and outcomes.

Advisor Information

2018 Davis School District MESA Teacher of the Year!

Geoff Warren teaches Physics and Astronomy and grew up in a family of engineers. His passion for teaching is evident in the activities he directs. As an active athlete, he is very competitive which is also evident in the competition opportunities he provides for students. If you want to come have fun learning, building, and competing with friends, then you should join the MESA club at Syracuse High! Stop by room 2015 to introduce yourself and get more details.

Activities

We will be meeting 1/22/2019 instead of 1/20 due to MLK Jr. Day.

Come ready to work on your competition projects! SeaPerch is fast approaching (3/7), so we need to really start digging in and getting our ROV's ready. Students are welcome to work on their projects after school any day I am available, not just on meeting days.

Competition season is in full swing! Come prepared to really dig into your projects be it SeaPerch, Mousetrap Cars, Arduino Maze-Solver Cars, or Physics Bowl. Remember to bring your Engineering Notebook to record what you did during the last 10 minutes of the day.

MESA will meet on Tuesday this week due to Parent Teacher Conferences.

We will officially kick off our competition season and start on the projects for the Arduino Car, SeaPerch, Physics Bowl, and Mousetrap Car competitions.

Whoo-hoo!

MESA - Math Engineering Science Achievement

This year students will have the opportunity to compete in SeaPerch, Mousetrap Cars, Arduino Cars, and Physics Bowl competitions. Bi-monthly activities will help support these competition projects, but students are not required to compete.

Meetings occur every 1st and 3rd Monday in room 2015 after school.
