Class Schedule Change

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have updated our schedule change procedure for this school year. Please read below for more information. 

For the safety of students and staff, and in order to adhere to social distancing requirements, all schedule changes will be done online using this google form Schedule Change Request. Please fill it out completely and list alternate courses you may want in case your requested course is full. 

Due to the pandemic and restrictions on class sizes this year, teacher change requests will NOT be considered. If you feel you absolutely need to request a teacher change you must fill out the teacher appeal section of the class change form. Filling out this section will not guarantee a teacher change. All requests will be taken to a committee to approve and can only be considered if the class size allows. 

Schedule changes MUST be paid in advance. Please log in to myDSD and pay the $10 fee under "optional fees." Your schedule change request will not be considered until the fee has been paid. The following requests, and only the following requests, will not require a fee:

  • adding DTC programs to your schedule
  • adding internship to your schedule
  • removing a duplicate course (listed twice in your schedule, or taken already over the summer)
  • made a sports team, audition only class and it is not on your schedule

ALL OTHER CHANGES WILL generate a $10 schedule change fee. Any refunds will be at the counselors discretion. If a desired change cannot be accommodated, a refund will be issued. 

If you have a hole in your schedule (missing a class period) you may come to the counseling center during that period on your first day of school to get your schedule fixed. 

PLEASE NOTE: All schedules are subject to change due to adjustments in class size/capacity. Please allow up to a week for your schedule to reflect requested changes. Do not submit a schedule change request for 2nd semester. Counselors are working on 1st semester schedules only. Any changes you want to make for 2nd semester can be done in the counseling center at no charge during October and November, prior to Thanksgiving break.

NOTE TO SENIOR STUDENTS/PARENTS: Counselors will be reviewing all senior students graduation requirements. Anybody who is off track will be contacted by their counselor to adjust their schedules as needed. Parents may review their students most up to date graduation summary on myDSD.
