SHS Counseling Commitment


SHS Counselors are committed to helping students achieve college and career readiness by graduation. We believe all students can be ready to pursue their post high school goals by taking advantage of the many opportunities SHS has to offer.
SHS Counselors follow the Utah State Office of Education guidelines of Comprehensive Counseling and Guidance Program. Our main areas of focus are: Plan for College and Career Readiness for every student, Collaborative Classroom Instruction, and Systemic Approach to Dropout Prevention. Below we have listed the variety of services provided to students, parents, and school community. 

 Areas of Focus:

Plan for College and Career Readiness

  • Small group College and Career Ready information presentations.
  • Sophomore Meet & Greet Individual 5 min. meetings.
  •  Individual appointments with all Juniors and their parent/guardian to discuss individual educational
    and career goals.
  • Daily student meetings before or after school, lunch, or during tutorial.
